OEL Zoe is an organic olive oil with Greek roots and artistic flair. Made from Koroneiki olives grown on family land in the Peloponnese, it shows a strong commitment to craftsmanship and cultural identity.

For OEL Zoe, keeping the oil's integrity matters just as much as its story. Each step, from cultivation to packaging, aims to protect quality and convey meaning.

For us, it is essential that the valuable components of our olive oil are preserved as carefully as possible. That’s why we chose Miron violet glass to protect it from light.

The challenge

Preserving quality and meaning from grove to bottle

From heritage to product

OEL Zoe was founded on the idea of combining two worlds: olive oil and art. With roots in both agriculture and painting, the brand brings together tradition and contemporary expression.

“When we created OEL, we didn’t want to focus solely on the olive oil as a product. For us it’s all about the olive oil culture, the connection we have with the olive trees, the balance we seek with nature, and the fact that everything is created with great wisdom in mind. OEL Zoe brings together tradition and modernity, agriculture and art, simplicity and complexity, and last but not least, father and son.”

The olive oil is produced from organic Koroneiki olives grown on their family’s trees that are several centuries old. Harvested early in the season, the olives deliver a fresh, aromatic profile that reflects the region.

Green gold

Farmers have cultivated the Koroneiki olive and processed it into olive oil for more than 3,000 years. It is not just a piece of history; it is also an expression of the Greek lifestyle. A cheerful gathering of friends, lively stories, and good food. “My grandmother always said to me when I was a child: oil is better than gold. And she was right, in a way it is green gold. It is the healthiest fat we can consume.”

“A high-quality Koroneiki olive oil always guarantees an incomparable wealth of components. And these play an important role in nutrition.” The Koroneiki olive is the superfood of the Mediterranean. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and has a lot of oleic acid. Plus, it contains many polyphenols, which are very healthy antioxidants. Because of this, extra virgin olive oil is first and foremost a healthy investment for the body and should be a daily luxury that everyone should enjoy.

The Koroneiki olive is small but powerful. These little olives are very productive, making up over 60% of Greek olive oil production. It’s on every table and in nearly every dish. It helps create a balanced diet and offers valuable antioxidants for a healthy life.

Protection from light

Craftsmanship meets preservation

Preserving quality through packaging

Olive oil consists of multiple beneficial components including antioxidants, phenols, vitamins and more. These elements shape its character, but they are sensitive to outside factors, especially light.

“Light is the source of all life on this planet. That’s a fact. But although we olive producers are fans of light, we also have a few problems with it.” When olive oil is correctly produced and processed, it is uniquely rich in nutrients. To preserve these nutrients, they must be protected from light. “Radiation from the visible light spectrum can accelerate the molecular disintegration and breakdown of olive oil’s components.” affecting aroma, stability, and overall quality. Preserving these properties requires careful handling beyond production.

We care a lot about keeping our products high quality. So, it makes sense to bottle OEL Zoe in violet glass. This way, all the properties and bioenergies of our olive oil are naturally preserved.”

At the same time, the packaging reflects the brand’s artistic identity. Each bottle showcases art by Dimitrios Tzamouranis. This links the visual design to the product inside.

This combination allows OEL Zoe to present olive oil not only as a culinary product, but as a cultural object shaped by origin, craft, and design.

Blending the families passions

Amadeus comes from a family of artists, some of whom still live in Kalamata, Greece. His great-grandfather painted churches. His grandfather switched from engineering to painting. His father, Dimitrios Tzamouranis, has loved art since he was a child.

Amadeus, on the other hand, always had a passion for olive oil and dreamed of combining art with culinary. His goal was to put olive oil, discredited by adulteration and blending, back to the pedestal it deserved.

About the label

You can see Dimitrios Tzamouranis’ painting, Decameron. It shows his youngest daughter, Zoe, whose name means “life.” The artwork was inspired by Giovanni Boccaccio’s Decameron, which was written in the 14th century and became the style-defining model for almost all Western novella collections.

The artwork shows seven women and three men. They leave Florence to find safety from the plague, known as the Black Death, in a country house. “With OEL Zoe we want to focus on strong values like faith, hope and love, because without them we lose our ground in times of crisis. In addition, the artwork celebrates the abundance and richness of life surrounded by nature. What better fit for this oil?”
