Founded by sisters Angela and Cathy, Food for Skin is a Dutch skincare brand. From the start, the founders set out to create skincare that is honest, effective, and sustainable.

The brand follows a simple approach. It uses natural ingredients and avoids adding more than necessary. Every product is built around transparency, quality, and respect for the skin.

These values align closely with Miron's approach. Both brands believe in making thoughtful choices and protecting what matters. That shared mindset makes Miron a natural partner for Food for Skin.

The challenge

Rethinking skincare

Built from personal challenges

The idea for Food for Skin started with personal experiences. Angela discovered that many products marketed as natural or sustainable still contained microplastics. At the same time, Cathy, an experienced skin therapist, saw how many people struggled with dry skin and reactions to heavily processed formulas.

They believed there was a better way. Together, they spent two years developing a new skincare range. They teamed up with a scientific formulator to develop products. Each product has a simple ingredient list and a clear purpose.

The result was a minimalist range made from fruit, vegetable, and plant extracts. The formulas contain no fillers, no added water, and no microplastics. Every ingredient is there for a reason.

Skinimalism and honesty

Food for Skin believes skincare should be simple. The brand creates products that serve more than one purpose. This helps keep routines short and easy to follow. The products are suitable for different skin types, ages, and genders.

One example is the Tomato Base Cream. It contains 74% tomato ingredients. Many skincare products contain only small amounts of their featured ingredients. Food for Skin chose a different approach.

The brand's work has earned several Dutch Beauty Awards. In 2023, Food for Skin also became a certified B Corp. Transparency remains a key part of the company. The team openly shares where it can improve. One example is its current use of plastic pumps while it continues to look for more sustainable alternatives.

Results in practice

Protecting natural formulas

The role of Miron glass

From the beginning, packaging was an important part of the project. Food for Skin needed a way to protect its products without relying on synthetic preservatives. Plastic was not an option. Standard glass did not provide the level of protection the team was looking for.

The brand set clear requirements. The packaging had to be made in Europe and be fully recyclable. It also had to support the quality of the formulas during storage.

That search led to Miron glass.

According to Food for Skin's own safety tests, the brand's oil products remained stable for longer in Miron glass. This extended the shelf life from 24 to 30 months, an important benefit for preservative-free skincare.

Miron glass filters light and helps create favorable storage conditions for natural products. For Food for Skin, it became an important part of protecting the quality, aroma, and character of its formulas over time.
